Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.14%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), which rose 3.02% or 2.79 points to trade at 95.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Thales (EPA:TCFP) added 2.65% or 3.10 points to end at 120.15 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 2.37% or 0.57 points to 24.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM), which fell 3.00% or 0.90 points to trade at 29.10 at the close. Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) declined 1.84% or 0.54 points to end at 28.82 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was down 1.45% or 1.64 points to 111.26.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Electricite de France SA (EPA:EDF) which rose 9.53% to 8.55, Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which was up 5.81% to settle at 38.05 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which gained 4.90% to close at 15.79.
The worst performers were Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was down 8.92% to 10.37 in late trade, Ovh Groupe SAS (EPA:OVH) which lost 8.73% to settle at 15.79 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 7.74% to 10.02 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 285 to 251 and 90 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.00% or 0.90 to 29.10. Shares in Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.84% or 0.54 to 28.82. Shares in Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.45% or 1.64 to 111.26. Shares in Ovh Groupe SAS (EPA:OVH) fell to all time lows; losing 8.73% or 1.51 to 15.79.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.39% or 7.10 to $1,800.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.19% or 2.32 to hit $108.08 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.01% or 2.19 to trade at $111.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.76% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.33% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.65% at 105.14.
