Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 8.38% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV), which fell 3.96% or 1.47 points to trade at 35.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) fell 4.10% or 1.43 points to end at 33.45 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) was down 4.60% or 1.55 points to 32.11 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which fell 14.79% or 0.6080 points to trade at 3.5020 at the close. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) declined 11.91% or 4.47 points to end at 33.06 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) was down 11.66% or 2.07 points to 15.68.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 179 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 2.75% or 1.35 to $47.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.88% or 1.37 to hit $46.27 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.14% or 1.85 to trade at $1324.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.82% to 1.1026, while EUR/GBP rose 2.83% to 0.8356.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.93% at 96.52.
