Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which rose 1.14% or 0.35 points to trade at 31.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) added 0.93% or 0.036 points to end at 3.908 and Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMPO) was up 0.85% or 0.37 points to 43.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which fell 2.44% or 1.06 points to trade at 42.38 at the close. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) declined 1.72% or 0.090 points to end at 5.140 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) was down 1.13% or 0.41 points to 36.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 74 to 67 and 12 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 1.44% or 0.80 to $56.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.53% or 0.80 to hit $53.13 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.43% or 4.95 to trade at $1166.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.69% to 1.0478, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8503.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.66% at 102.56.
