Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.75% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which rose 4.51% or 1.85 points to trade at 42.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 3.75% or 0.3000 points to end at 8.3000 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was up 2.26% or 0.32 points to 14.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which fell 3.18% or 0.99 points to trade at 30.11 at the close. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) declined 2.83% or 0.150 points to end at 5.150 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was down 1.78% or 0.65 points to 35.78.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 76 to 60 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) rose to all time highs; up 4.51% or 1.85 to 42.86. Shares in Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) rose to 3-years highs; rising 3.75% or 0.3000 to 8.3000.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $53.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $51.00 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 3.05% or 35.55 to trade at $1128.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.34% to 1.0393, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8376.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.25% at 103.31.
