- Coty (NYSE:COTY) says it applauds a decision by the European Union's Court of Justice to preserve the image of luxury brands and prevents e-commerce sites such as Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) and eBay from selling their products.
- "After years of uncertainty, this means luxury brands can determine how they are placed on digital platforms and it is a clear ruling for the protection of luxury brands’ image, the defense of our teams’ work and the protection of consumers’ rights and information," reads a statement from Coty CEO Kai Renchen.
- European luxury brands that could benefit from the EU court decision include Christian Dior (OTCPK:CHDRF), Kering (PA:PRTP) (OTCPK:PPRUF, OTCPK:PPRUY), Hermes International (PA:HRMS) (OTCPK:HESAF, OTCPK:HESAY), Pernod Ricard (PA:PERP) (OTCPK:PDRDF, OTCPK:PDRDY), Burberry (OTCPK:BURBY, OTCPK:BBRYF), Orchestra Premaman, LVMH (OTCPK:LVMHF, OTCPK:LVMUY), L'Oreal (OTCPK:LRLCF, OTCPK:LRLCY), Richemont (OTCPK:CFRHF, OTCPK:CFRUY) and Remy Cointreau (OTCPK:REMYF, OTCPK:REMYY).
