Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.90% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6), which rose 5.11% or 0.81 points to trade at 16.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Cia Paranaense de Energia (SA:CPLE6) added 3.67% or 0.81 points to end at 22.90 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3) was up 3.33% or 0.46 points to 14.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3), which fell 5.39% or 0.83 points to trade at 14.58 at the close. Ultrapar Participacoes SA (SA:UGPA3) declined 4.18% or 2.13 points to end at 48.85 and Cvc Brasil ON (SA:CVCB3) was down 3.49% or 1.53 points to 42.37.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 246 to 173 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) fell to 5-year lows; falling 5.39% or 0.83 to 14.58.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.83% to 33.32.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.26% or 3.40 to $1302.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.47% or 0.31 to hit $66.67 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.93% or 1.09 to trade at $116.33 .
USD/BRL was down 0.14% to 3.7152, while EUR/BRL rose 0.28% to 4.3811.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 93.59.
