Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Financials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.99%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which rose 8.15% or 0.75 points to trade at 9.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) added 5.44% or 0.87 points to end at 16.87 and BR Malls Participacoes SA (SA:BRML3) was up 5.12% or 0.62 points to 12.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hypermarcas SA (SA:HYPE3), which fell 14.26% or 3.70 points to trade at 22.25 at the close. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) declined 2.26% or 0.26 points to end at 11.22 and Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5) was down 1.96% or 0.38 points to 19.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 223 to 107 and 17 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.38% to 36.93.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.32% or 4.25 to $1322.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.39% or 1.62 to hit $49.47 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 2.58% or 3.64 to trade at $144.52 .
USD/BRL was down 2.17% to 3.2323, while EUR/BRL fell 1.71% to 3.5938.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 95.74.
