Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Financials and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Tim Participacoes SA (SA:TIMP3), which rose 4.38% or 0.39 points to trade at 9.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Multiplan SA (SA:MULT3) added 3.81% or 2.40 points to end at 65.40 and Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3) was up 3.73% or 0.48 points to 13.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vale SA (SA:VALE3), which fell 6.28% or 2.05 points to trade at 30.61 at the close. Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) declined 5.45% or 1.15 points to end at 19.95 and Vale SA Pref (SA:VALE5) was down 5.41% or 1.66 points to 29.01.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 257 to 151 and 36 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.81% to 28.06 a new 52-week low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.01% or 0.15 to $1219.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.49% or 0.26 to hit $53.80 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 0.17% or 0.25 to trade at $146.27 .
USD/BRL was down 0.18% to 3.1180, while EUR/BRL fell 0.04% to 3.3588.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 99.80.
