Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumption, Industrials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5), which rose 4.23% or 0.84 points to trade at 20.68 at the close. Meanwhile, ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) added 3.83% or 0.15 points to end at 4.07 and Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) was up 3.28% or 0.360 points to 11.320 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3), which fell 5.33% or 0.90 points to trade at 15.98 at the close. Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) declined 5.26% or 0.38 points to end at 6.85 and Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) was down 4.58% or 1.46 points to 30.39.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 161 to 115 and 30 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.16% to 42.77.
Gold for June delivery was down 1.95% or 24.35 to $1227.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.33% or 1.12 to hit $49.20 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.37% or 0.45 to trade at $121.88 .
USD/BRL was up 0.01% to 3.5732, while EUR/BRL fell 0.69% to 3.9815.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.37% at 95.58.
