Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 2.19%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (BR:ELI), which fell 0.34% or 0.155 points to trade at 45.985 at the close. Meanwhile, Umicore NV (BR:UMI) fell 0.83% or 0.39 points to end at 46.06 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was down 1.09% or 0.59 points to 53.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ING Groep NV (AS:ING), which fell 4.19% or 0.450 points to trade at 10.285 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 3.08% or 0.93 points to end at 29.25 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was down 3.07% or 3.50 points to 110.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 122 to 22 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.14% or 1.75 to $1274.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.49% or 1.26 to hit $49.30 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.33% or 1.21 to trade at $50.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1282, while EUR/GBP rose 0.51% to 0.7870.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 94.41.
