Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.78% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (BR:ELI), which fell 0.21% or 0.095 points to trade at 45.750 at the close. Meanwhile, NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) fell 0.87% or 0.34 points to end at 39.17 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was down 0.91% or 0.48 points to 52.42 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 3.18% or 1.525 points to trade at 46.385 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 2.75% or 1.11 points to end at 39.46 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was down 2.72% or 0.76 points to 27.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 123 to 19 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Telenet Group (BR:TNET) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.75% or 1.11 to 39.46. Shares in Proximus NV (BR:PROX) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.72% or 0.76 to 27.00.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.13% or 1.65 to $1285.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.19% or 0.58 to hit $48.30 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.53% or 0.77 to trade at $49.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.74% to 1.1208, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.7931.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.61% at 95.00.
