Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.79%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which rose 0.88% or 1.10 points to trade at 126.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 0.64% or 0.09 points to end at 13.32 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) was up 0.61% or 0.34 points to 56.11 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which fell 4.33% or 4.85 points to trade at 107.25 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 4.15% or 2.440 points to end at 56.420 and UCB (BR:UCB) was down 3.87% or 2.50 points to 62.03.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 79 to 62 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in UCB (BR:UCB) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.87% or 2.50 to 62.03.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.16% or 2.00 to $1271.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.97% or 0.48 to hit $49.24 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.85% or 0.43 to trade at $50.04 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.42% to 1.0943, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.9002.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 98.65.
