Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 4.73% or 2.880 points to trade at 63.780 at the close. Meanwhile, Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 1.20% or 0.55 points to end at 45.98 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 0.49% or 0.50 points to 102.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KBC (BR:KBC), which fell 2.07% or 1.130 points to trade at 53.400 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 1.31% or 0.39 points to end at 29.00 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was down 0.98% or 0.39 points to 39.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 73 to 70 and 16 ended unchanged.

Gold for December delivery was down 0.23% or 3.05 to $1341.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.04% or 1.41 to hit $44.91 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.60% or 1.24 to trade at $46.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1230, while EUR/GBP rose 1.01% to 0.8661.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 95.38.
