Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrial Engineering, Banking and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.00%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 1.98% or 1.860 points to trade at 95.880 at the close. Meanwhile, Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 1.77% or 1.06 points to end at 60.82 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 1.20% or 0.122 points to 10.274 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which fell 3.38% or 0.83 points to trade at 23.70 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 2.20% or 0.17 points to end at 7.57 and UCB (BR:UCB) was down 2.08% or 1.60 points to 75.50.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 68 to 43 and 15 ended unchanged.

Shares in Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) rose to all time highs; up 1.77% or 1.06 to 60.82.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.20% or 2.45 to $1247.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.52% or 0.78 to hit $51.93 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.58 to trade at $60.73 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1362, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8993.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 97.093.
