Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 3.11% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 6.02% or 0.855 points to trade at 15.065 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) added 5.22% or 3.240 points to end at 65.280 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was up 5.01% or 0.64 points to 13.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 2.39% or 1.940 points to trade at 79.400 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 1.72% or 1.23 points to end at 70.35 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.68% or 0.75 points to 110.25.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 79 to 34 and 7 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.05% or 13.56 to $1275.54 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.67% or 0.33 to hit $49.29 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.48% or 0.25 to trade at $52.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.15% to 1.0851, while EUR/GBP rose 1.42% to 0.8489.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.62% at 99.04.
