Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 3.47% or 2.080 points to trade at 62.030 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB (BR:UCB) added 3.01% or 1.92 points to end at 65.64 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 2.34% or 2.95 points to 129.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which fell 1.63% or 0.18 points to trade at 10.88 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 0.59% or 0.29 points to end at 49.33 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was down 0.40% or 0.18 points to 45.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 67 to 40 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) fell to all time lows; falling 1.63% or 0.18 to 10.88.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.46% or 5.55 to $1205.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.27% or 0.14 to hit $52.95 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.29 to trade at $55.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.0753, while EUR/GBP fell 0.86% to 0.8508.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 99.87.
