Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which rose 2.54% or 0.77 points to trade at 30.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 1.35% or 0.43 points to end at 32.62 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 1.29% or 0.99 points to 77.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which fell 2.18% or 1.05 points to trade at 47.45 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 0.96% or 0.42 points to end at 43.64 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was down 0.65% or 0.520 points to 78.990.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 58 to 56 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Proximus NV (BR:PROX) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.54% or 0.77 to 30.85. Shares in UCB (BR:UCB) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.29% or 0.99 to 77.48.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.35% or 4.25 to $1228.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.21% or 0.10 to hit $47.73 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $50.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.0921, while EUR/GBP rose 0.68% to 0.8486.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 99.14.
