Comic: Trump Proposes Helicopter Money To Fight Off Coronavirus Impact

Investing.com - The White House pressed on Tuesday for enactment of a $1 trillion stimulus package, as the Trump administration looks to battle the economic impact from the coronavirus pandemic.

“It’s going to be big, it’s going to be bold,” President Donald Trump said.

Potentially $250 billion of the package could go toward making direct payments of as much as $1,000 to every American citizen.

“Americans need cash now,” Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said during a White House press briefing on the administration’s latest efforts to combat the disease. “I mean now in the next two weeks.”

The White House will now have to negotiate a package with Congress before it gains approval. Democrats have made clear that any support to industries must come with significant aid to workers.

With cases of the respiratory illness reported in all 50 states and the total number of known U.S. infections nearing 10,000, millions of Americans hunkered down at home instead of commuting to work or going to school.

Roughly half of all Americans want the U.S. government to act more aggressively to slow transmission of the coronavirus, such as banning large public gatherings and shutting down all overseas flights, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released earlier this week.

Trump is going to save us again
Yeah, after he scr*wed us.  Saying it's no big deal two weeks ago, and it'll just pass, he set himself up to look like a hero.  Disgusting abuse of power, IMO.
how does calling it no big deal, or worse just a HOAX... make him a hero when he has to eat his words and start pretending its the end of the world and he needs to spend over a trillion dollars RIGHT NOW, to even start to fix it? sounds just like the fool he always has been to me, only now there's no denying it -even though of course he IS.
Sounds like the Bern may have talked to him like a good socialist commie
There are no commies anymore, just Russian  hero's we should all worship. Haven't you been paying attention to Trump?
The first to show there socialist tendencies were of course BIG BUSINESSES that once again came begging to the taxpayers door -while telling us not to vote for Bernie, NOT because he's a socialist, but because he's not the RIGHT KIND of socialist -you know the kind that thinks billionaires constantly need bailing out ...
Trump is a *******and is only interested in his re-election. America, don't think for one minute he's interested in anything other than promoting his own re-election.
It is so obvious. Wake up people. Don't get hypnotized by bs. We have a MS in BS and a PhD in peddling it.
save earth
Fiction economy, monopoly money
up to 1000bucks..so that's 10 trips to Walmart for toilet paper ..if they gave every American $10,000 that would be significant. what did Obama give us was it $600- or $800? everyone just blew it on junk
1000 is just enough that you have to put more money on that if you want to buy something, there you see what they want you to do, spend more and more money
The Trump bailout is a beautiful thing. It's very big. very big. And there are a lot of smart people working on it. Very smart. Very beautiful. That coronavirus is very smart, very beautiful.
he doesn't even understand what he is doing all those years
its going to become worthless piece of toilet paper
You must be thinking about paper from the Arab nations, with oil becoming little more than hazardous waste when electric cars take over in the next 10 years, It's THEIR money thats going to be worthless. It's pretty much how they pay their bills, or haven't you heard? if you think the Greta Thornburg generation is going to be caught dead driving a fossil burner, when electrics are 3 times cheaper to operate, FASTER, quieter, and far less polluting- then you have no sense of where this world is headed my friend. Fossil fuel cars are going out with the baby boomers who are quickly becoming fossils themselves... I know, IM ONE. And I'm afraid this world will be a lot better off when we go and take Trump with us. We trashed this planet, spent all our money murdering people all over the world for no reason, and finally gave this country TRUMP, the worst excuse for a president since and bigger JOKE than Mussolini ! All while saddling the next 5 generations with a debt they'll never pay.
ill be buying bitcoin with that paper money... but when its red on the daily... not right now...
No impact for your analysis
"It is going to be big, it is going to be bold". we are writing history here 😂😭😭
I believe he's referring to his latest bankruptcy, its the only thing he's ever done with a business and this latest one (the bankrupting of America) will definitely be his masterpiece. So for ONCE he's telling the truth, this bankruptcy will be bigger and bolder than any he's ever done before, -but not without americas help. We are the ones that sat on the couch because Hillary just wasn't exciting enough for us, well we wanted excitement? We sure got it!
Trumps the man. Sorry you have to Baby sit all these pansies in US corona really quit freaking out
you need to read the history of the Weimer Republic - people in the US will be taking wheelbarrows of dollars to the bakery to buy a loaf of bread! There is no such thing as a free lunch - Trump is not the messiah - he's a very naughty boy!
Trumps the one panicking now, but its not about Coronavirus, its about his job. You know the one that if he looses it he'll end up in a NY prison cell.
Technically thats a big effort to a small result, dont you agree ?
