India’s leading short video sharing app with over 32 million daily active users, Chingari, discloses it has just hit the number one spot on Google Play, now ranks as the country’s top free social media application.
Chingari is one of India’s fastest-growing social media platforms and has a record high of 85 million downloads. Due to its growing daily numbers, Chingari has surpassed some of the biggest names in the social media industry to claim the number one spot, knocking off the likes of Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook (NASDAQ:FB).
The India’s most popular network was founded by Sumit Ghosh, Deepak Salvi, Aditya Kothari, and Biswatma Nayak in November 2018. Just in three years, the app has become one of the nation’s hottest social hubs.
Some of the implied attributes behind this recent feat could be the combination of its simple mechanics, with users able to quickly produce and upload short videos of themselves performing all kinds of antics in more than 20 languages, including English and Hindi.
Furthermore, the award-winning platform has enjoyed roaring success in the world’s second-most populous country as a result of its built-in filters to help users create visual effects. This means users can decide to sing a song, lip-sync, dance, film their pets, create voice-over movie scenes, perform comedy acts or do something else creative with music in the background before sharing their content.
Apart from all of its numerous achievements and usability, it is the first social media platform in India to launch its own cryptocurrency token. The GARI token was launched in October with great fanfare by the company’s Bollywood superstar brand ambassador Salman Khan, the Chingari team says.
To further lay its mark in the cryptocurrency space, in a recent Initial Dex Offering (IDO) for GARI, it successfully raised $6 million on the SolRazr platform. GARI is built on the Solana blockchain, leveraging the advantage of fast, low-cost transaction speeds of the ecosystem
GARI will serve as a vehicle for hundreds of influencers and other popular creators to monetize their content through the sale of physical merchandise and NFTs. Chingari is making waves in more ways than one, with its crypto integration, it is building a legacy that will ensure its longevity in India and the global market at large.
