The board of British American Tobacco p.l.c.  has announced that it will be increasing its dividend on the 17th of August to UK£0.54. The announced payment will take the dividend yield to 6.0%, which is in line with the average for the industry.

When I receive BTI dividends, I get exactly what is written here in the dividend section. but when I get AT&T dividends, 30% is cut because of taxes etc, when I get Agricultural Bank of China dividends, 10% is cut. anyone can explain the difference between these stocks, which causes these tax rate differences? why in some dividends there is no tax cut but in the other ones it can be 10% or 30%?

AT&T is a US stock so subject to 30% dvd tax. ABC is subject to 10% dvd tax, like all Chinese based entities. BTI is a british stock listed as an ADR in the US which is not subject to the US dvd tax

it's actually 600 and change not $2200 remember the dividend it shows is for the full year so you divide 2.69 by 4 then times that number by 227 which is 600 somethinf
