I do not believe such news at https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/19/reuters-america-exclusive-opec-allies-struggle-to-fully-deliver-pledged-oil-output-boost-internal-document.html. It is impossible to cut production. It is technically complicated. How you can shut offshore well, even onshore as well?  it can destroy stucture of the field etc. Nothing was shut. Production is ongoing, it is stored and is not sold in the market.

The article does not talk about any cut in production...It is the same narrative returning. It's about the exaggerated spare capacity of SA and others (which most probably is true). This narrative doesn't factor in the possible demise of demand. If you see another version of it again on Monday on this site, then there is a swing in preparation...

So all in all there is still a lot of selling pressure and there is no indication of an uptrend; why I am reluctant to go big on LP. However, as it is friday, i.e. profit taking and we reached a new dip last day, I think it is likely that we go up. I want to short anything above/close to 80.40 (EMA100) 81.20 (EMA200). I may also enter a small LP, however, I dont see any decent positon to enter, but would look at somewhere between 79.39-78.92.

9.     Do not trade with high volumes. Do not wait for 1-2 dollar change in price. Make turnover it is better and less risky. Follow 33 pips rule and cut your position gradually by fixing profit. Then refill it is again. With 2-3 contracts, you can make more profit in turnover rather holding big position for several days. In several days, market may change and you will lose your profit and capital.

kind of agree on this one. tho swings can be great but takes patience and a calmness that some dont have. but even in swings profit taking is essential at various levels to guarantee a profit and not make a loss. Also to never use all your capital when swing trading. guess that is what you mean with volume.

6.     Interesting point of Stop loss and how market maker can use it. Stop loss for short position is upper price and BUY order. So if market maker can sell it to your stop loss price will increase. This is the case when you see low volumes but fast price increase. Do not enter market in the empty market, after trading hours. Know trading hours for each major stock exchange...7.     There is clearing hours for Asia and London. Mind this timing...8.     Be disciplined. Remember you can earn money and lose everything. Therefore, consider your risks. Make a trading plan and anticipated profit in terms of % of your deposit.

Mikael Ribeiro like the tool "discourse"? Never used it. I was thinking of scratching a blueprint for a social trading platform - as an MVP only for brent and see which social features would help us most to exchange our views. But first step we would need to be organized (like IRC in the 2000s) or SLACK nowadays. What do you think?

GM to all. Some considerations for new oil traders..1.     Consider Open interest and Open position in the market. You can google definition and statistics. For this you can also review Brent and WTI Options statistics here https://cmegroup.quikstrike.net..2.     There key statistics for oil market. On Tuesday there is API report, on Wednesday EIA, on Thursday Natural Gas stock, on Friday Rig count. All of them you can find here https://www.investing.com/economic-calendar/..3.     Do not believe in every news, such as oil will be 100 or 200. It is emotions. Consider that there is macroeconomics, flow of cash, market makers etc. You can notice that market makers may go against statistics. Therefore, you may see bearish stats, but rising prices...4.     Remember that when you close short position it is BUY, when you close long position it is SELL. Therefore, be ready for moving down before going up...5.     Do not believe in trend in oil market. There is no trend.

USA wil not impose sections on Saudi Arebia for number of reasons A) When Osama Bin Laden killed in Pakistan the 9/11 mastermind..the aftermath investigation proved involvement of Saudi in 9/11..USA was thinking serious action.. than Saudi warns to USA that in any misadventures they will liquidate 400 Billions Us Treasurer Bond immediately n ..make US economy at crippling halt..& the results is in front of us B). The case of Saudi Journalist Jamal Khashoggi is very small in nature compared to 9/11. C) USA will not Mess simultaneously with Russia, China, Iran , India, n Saudi Arabia. D) Anything against Saudi will flare up the crude price coz saudi is the largest crude producer of the world n USA will not like that..

Maybe u`re rigth about the US, but what about the rest of the world? Even though it`s no sanctions, alot of important companies are withdrawing from conferenses etc in Saudi. So I don`t think it`s unlikely that Saudi can make some kind of statement to show their importance. Pr now, the world says to Saudi: You gotta turn open all your oiltaps! And at the same time: You`re mean! We will not cooperate with you! My guess is the`re considering showing some muscle. But thats only a guess.
