This morning, the S&P 500 Index e-mini futures (ES-H3) are trading higher by 2.00 point to $1454.25 per contract. It seems that the major stock indexes are very quiet before the opening bell. Yesterday afternoon, Alcoa Inc (AA) kicked off the start of earnings season. The stock is not really a market mover any longer as it was in the past. Later this week, Wells Fargo & Co (WFC) will report earnings and this stock could have a major impact on the financial sector.
Last night, most of the leading Asian stock indexes finished mixed. The important Bombay Sensex Index (India) finished lower by 0.38 percent. Traders and investors should look for some minor weakness in the Indian ADR's if the U.S. markets are weak. Some leading Indian equities that could be volatile today include The India Fund Inc (IFN), Tata Motors Limited (ADR) (TTM), Infosys Ltd ADR (INFY), Wipro Limited (WIPRO), and Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp (CTSH). Traders should remember, if the U.S. markets are strong today these leading Indian equities should hold up just fine.
