The markets are sure looking tentative, but pushing higher. Yesterday the technicals were looking better on the indices. We’re going to look at some longs, although some shorts are still doing well. The longs that we're are trading and playing with are looking really terrific.
Achillion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ACHN) had a pop around November 10-15, and since then it’s had two and a half weeks of a pullback kind of falling wedge. Tuesday and Wednesday were both good days with an increase in volume. On Wednesday, it was up 53 cents, or 4%, on 5.1 million shares. It looks to me like it’s really going to make a run at the 14 3/4-15 zone, and then my target is 17.
Cypress Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ:CY), with a game-changing merger expansion apparently gapped, ran, and on Wednesday, it was up again, up 61 cents, or 5%, on 15 million shares. I’m thinking it’s going to take a run at the 13-14 zone, and then we’ll see if it pulls back and consolidates. But keep an eye on this one for potential intra-day opportunities on pullbacks.
Flamel Technologies SA (NASDAQ:FLML) had a key breakout on Wednesday, not only on an intermediate or long-term basis, the long term chart shows the highest level of seven years. It may very well lead to something more significant. But, for now, the breakout here has me thinking it’s going to move up to the top of the channel to the 21 zone. That’s my next target.
Supernus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:SUPN) had a really nice day on Wednesday. I put a swing on it with the breakout of 1.1 million shares to key resistance. I’m looking to see if it stands to get to 9.70-8.80. If it gets through that we’re looking at 11.50, and then a 13-dollar stock.
