Amphenol Corporation (NYSE:APH) designs and manufactures connectors and interconnecting systems that are used to transmit electrical and optical signals for a wide range of sophisticated electronic applications.

In the last four quarters, APH has reported a positive average earnings surprise of 8.91%, beating estimates on all occasions.

Currently, APH has a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), but that could definitely change following the fourth-quarter 2017 earnings report which was just released. You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.

We have highlighted some of the key stats from this just-revealed announcement below:

Earnings: APH beats on earnings. Adjusted earnings came in at 86 cents per share, higher than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 81 cents.

Revenue: Quarterly revenues beat estimates. APH recorded revenues of $1,943.9 million, higher than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1,791 million.

Key Stats to Note: APH is poised to grow on the back of new acquisitions, business diversification and greater innovation. However, the company perceives that negative foreign currency impact and stiff competition in the industry might limit near-term growth. The company anticipates to generate first-quarter 2018 revenues within the range of $1.780-$1.820 billion, while adjusted earnings for first-quarter 2018 are predicted to lie within 78-80 cents per share.

Stock Price: However, at the time of writing, the stock price of APH was down nearly 0.2% ($0.17) in the pre-market trade on Nasdaq.
