Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Real Estate & Construction and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 1.55%, while the ADX General index declined 1.19%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which rose 3.26% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.840 at the close. Meanwhile, Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) added 1.91% or 0.009 points to end at 0.479 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) was up 1.18% or 0.020 points to 1.720 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM), which fell 4.07% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.650 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 3.39% or 0.019 points to end at 0.541 and Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR) was down 3.31% or 0.022 points to 0.643.
The top performers on the ADX General were Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which rose 3.60% to 7.78, Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was up 2.29% to settle at 3.58 and Emirates Ins C (AD:EIC) which unchanged 0.00% to close at 6.80.
The worst performers were Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which was down 3.51% to 2.75 in late trade, Methaq (AD:METH) which lost 3.33% to settle at 0.870 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 1.89% to 0.520 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 23 to 4; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 16 fell and 3 advanced, while 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in Emirates Ins C (AD:EIC) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 6.80.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.03% or 0.94 to $45.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.16% or 0.56 to hit $48.15 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.29% or 3.40 to trade at $1174.10 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.04% to 4.1682.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 94.94.
