Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Sunday, as gains in the Transport, Consumer Staples and Finance & Investment sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.55%, while the ADX General index gained 0.47%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which rose 6.96% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.615 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) added 6.43% or 0.110 points to end at 1.820 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was up 4.29% or 0.027 points to 0.657 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which fell 1.32% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.525 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) declined 1.01% or 0.005 points to end at 0.490 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) was down 0.76% or 0.010 points to 1.310.

The top performers on the ADX General were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which rose 440.00% to 6.93, Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which was up 6.67% to settle at 2.24 and Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which gained 4.55% to close at 3.45.

The worst performers were Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 3.70% to 0.520 in late trade, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which lost 1.85% to settle at 0.530 and Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 1.25% to 0.790 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 18 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 10 fell and 10 advanced, while 5 ended unchanged.

Shares in Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) rose to 3-years highs; rising 4.55% or 0.15 to 3.45.

Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.65% or 0.29 to $44.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.69% or 0.31 to hit $45.32 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.43% or 18.25 to trade at $1290.55 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.01% to 4.1880.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 93.83.
