Trading in Colour: FxPro's New Accessibility Feature for Vision Deficiencies

The world’s #1 broker FxPro has introduced customisable colour settings in the FxPro app for iOS and Android, designed specifically to support users with colour vision deficiencies and improve accessibility across the trading experience.

Seeing the Market Clearly

For most traders, colour is fundamental to how they read the markets. Green means up, and Red means down. At a glance, traders can immediately see whether an instrument is moving in their favour or against them.

However, for an estimated 300 million people worldwide living with some form of colour vision deficiency, those same visual cues can be difficult or impossible to distinguish. When red and green appear nearly identical, a split-second misread can affect trading decisions and overall platform usability.

To address this, FxPro has launched a new feature called Colour Adjust, now available in the FxPro app on both iOS and Android devices.

Introducing Colour Adjust

The new Colour Adjust feature allows users to choose a colour scheme best suited to their vision preferences. The setting can be found under: Profile > Appearance > Colour Adjust

The app currently offers five colour options:

 Standard Colours

• Red · Blue — FxPro’s default setting, designed to provide a clearer distinction than the traditional red and green combination and one that fits more with the FxPro brand.
• Red · Green — The classic trading colour pairing preferred by some users.

 New Accessible Colours

• Orange · Green — Optimised for users with red-green colour blindness (including Protanopia and Deuteranopia), the two most common forms of colour vision deficiency.
• Yellow Blue — Designed for users with blue-yellow colour blindness (Tritanopia), helping directional price movements remain clearly distinguishable.
• Monochrome — A high-contrast greyscale option created for users with total colour blindness (Achromatopsia), ensuring the app remains fully functional and readable.

Once selected, the chosen colour scheme is applied consistently across price movements, buy and sell actions, charts, and trading interface elements throughout the app.

FxPro noted that the feature is not only intended for users with colour blindness. Some traders may simply prefer alternative colour combinations for comfort, readability, or personal trading preference, particularly during long trading sessions.

 Why It Matters

Colour vision deficiency is significantly more common than many people realise. Approximately 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women are affected to some degree. Despite this, financial platforms and trading applications have historically been designed around the assumption of full colour vision.

As a result, many traders have had to adapt to interfaces that were not designed with their visual needs in mind, relying more heavily on numbers or second-guessing market direction where colour cues should provide immediate clarity.

With the introduction of Colour Adjust, FxPro aims to reduce that friction by giving traders greater control over how market information is displayed.

Whether users experience Protanopia, Deuteranopia, Tritanopia, or Achromatopsia, the platform now offers tailored settings designed to improve usability and visual clarity.

Peter Aust, Chief of Operations at FxPro, commented, ‘’At FxPro, we believe great trading tools should work for everyone. That's why we've introduced customisable colour settings in the FxPro app for iOS and Android, designed specifically to support users with colour vision deficiencies.’’

A Better Experience for Every Trader

The feature reflects a broader focus on accessibility and user experience within the FxPro platform.

Trading environments require quick decision-making, particularly during periods of heightened market volatility. Clear visual communication plays an important role in helping traders interact with markets efficiently and confidently.

FxPro stated that the goal of the feature is not only technical accessibility, but also ensuring that traders can focus on the markets themselves rather than the limitations of the interface.

The FxPro app has received 5-star recognition from the Investors Chronicle and Financial Times awards for two years in a row, highlighting the company’s ongoing focus on platform usability, performance, and trading experience.

 Commitment to Inclusive Design

FxPro described Colour Adjust as part of a broader commitment to inclusive platform development and user-focused design. Platform improvements are regularly shaped by client feedback, trading behaviour analysis, and ongoing usability research aimed at improving the overall trading experience.

The company also noted that a strong trading experience is not defined solely by execution speed or trading conditions, but also by how comfortable, intuitive, and accessible the platform feels for the people using it every day.

 How to Enable Colour Adjust

Users can activate the feature in just a few steps:

• Open the FxPro app
• Go to the Profile Menu
• Tap Appearance
• Select Colour Adjust
• Choose the preferred colour scheme

Changes apply instantly across the app without requiring a restart.

Available Now on the FxPro App

With Colour Adjust, FxPro continues to expand the accessibility and personalisation features available within its trading ecosystem, helping traders customise the platform in a way that works best for them.

Whether designed for accessibility needs or simply personal preference, the new feature gives users greater control over how they experience the markets every day.

The latest version of the FxPro app is available now on iOS and Android. Users can download the app and explore the new Colour Adjust feature directly within the platform.
