At Forex Expo Dubai 2025, one of the most anticipated annual gatherings of the global trading industry, Mina Javid, Deputy Operations Manager at Alpari, delivered a keynote that resonated far beyond technology or product innovation.
Her session, titled “The Human Side of Trading,” examined a simple but often overlooked truth — trust in financial markets doesn’t start with data or platforms; it starts with empathy.
Javid began by addressing a reality many in the audience quietly acknowledged: “Every broker today offers the same tools — spreads, speed, and MetaTrader. Technology is no longer what sets us apart.”
The question, she said, is not why traders choose a broker, but why they stay.
Her answer: loyalty is built on being heard.
“Traders don’t need scripts; they need empathy. They don’t remember what was offered — they remember how they were treated,” she explained.
Javid pointed to gaps that still exist in the retail trading experience — in knowledge, psychology, and trust.
She noted that 74–89% of retail traders lose yearly, not only because of markets, but because of missing guidance.
Her solution was both practical and human:
“We can’t control volatility, but we can close the knowledge gap. Education, smarter onboarding, and real-time support are how we transform churn into loyalty.”
She emphasized that feedback is free R&D — only 9% of unhappy clients ever speak up, while 91% leave silently.
Recognizing, listening, and acting on that feedback, she said, is what turns moments of frustration into trust.
Mina Javid described empathy as the only true competitive edge left in Forex.
While platforms can be copied, relationships cannot.
“At Alpari, our principle is simple: Clients matter. Understanding over assumption, education over shortcuts, and empathy over scripts,” she said.
This approach, she added, is why some clients have remained with Alpari for over 15 years — a loyalty built not on promotions, but on genuine relationships.
Her closing words captured the essence of her talk:
“Trust begins with empathy.
And empathy begins when brokers stop talking at traders — and start listening to them.”
In an expo filled with technical panels and market forecasts, Mina Javid’s session stood out for bringing the conversation back to where trading truly begins: the human side of finance.
