U.S House Speaker Pelosi to visit Asia, no mention of Taiwan

BEIJING (Reuters) - U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will visit four Asian countries from Sunday, her office said, without mentioning Taiwan amid intense speculation she might visit the self-ruled island claimed by China.

"Speaker Nancy Pelosi is leading a Congressional delegation to the Indo-Pacific region, including visits to Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan," her office said in a press release https://www.speaker.gov/newsroom/73122.

"The trip will focus on mutual security, economic partnership and democratic governance in the Indo-Pacific region."

We are on their side, we are their ally, if we want to go to Taiwan we should. since when does the US conform to another nation's threats? same with Russia....we don't want to "Cross a line". Russia gets support from other nations, fighters, equip, etc but when they say jump we say how high? think this policy is actually more dangerous because it shows weakness and that we take orders from rogue nations now and they can dictate how we operate.

I do. You said when Russia says jump, the US asks, how high, a metaphor for doing what Russia desires. As anybody not living in a cave is aware, the US and the west are providing hundreds of billions of dollars military in aid to counter Russia's aims in Ukraine. This is not capitulation to Russia. This is not asking how high.
