AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Mexico has filed a case against Ecuador at the U.N.'s top court saying the armed raid on the Mexican embassy in Quito last week violated a U.N. treaty on diplomatic relations, the International Court of Justice said in a filing on Thursday.

The raid sparked global outrage and condemnation of the South American nation as well as triggering a diplomatic break between Ecuador and Mexico.
