Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Real Estate & Construction and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 1.88%, while the ADX General index gained 1.57%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which rose 8.85% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) added 5.51% or 0.070 points to end at 1.340 and Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) was up 3.96% or 0.240 points to 6.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which fell 2.94% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.650 at the close. ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) declined 1.52% or 0.050 points to end at 3.230 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) was down 0.92% or 0.010 points to 1.080.
The top performers on the ADX General were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which rose 10.87% to 1.53, Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which was up 3.53% to settle at 2.64 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 3.45% to close at 0.600.
The worst performers were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was down 9.94% to 4.53 in late trade, Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which lost 9.89% to settle at 0.820 and Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 5.86% to 2.73 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 26 to 4 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 18 rose and 7 declined, while 6 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.21% or 0.59 to $49.21 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.36% or 0.66 to hit $49.27 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.63% or 7.80 to trade at $1221.40 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.04% to 4.0937.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 95.53.
