Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Sunday, as gains in the Telecoms, Real Estate & Construction and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.08% to hit a new 3-months high, while the ADX General index added 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU), which rose 2.63% or 0.150 points to trade at 5.850 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) added 1.72% or 0.020 points to end at 1.180 and Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA) was up 1.62% or 0.040 points to 2.510 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX), which fell 2.05% or 0.110 points to trade at 5.260 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) declined 1.74% or 0.020 points to end at 1.130 and Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) was down 1.66% or 0.040 points to 2.370.
The top performers on the ADX General were Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which rose 5.33% to 4.74, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was up 1.59% to settle at 0.640 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 1.54% to close at 5.28.
The worst performers were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 6.33% to 2.220 in late trade, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which lost 2.48% to settle at 1.180 and Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was down 2.00% to 0.490 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 18 to 10 and 8 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 9 rose and 7 declined, while 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.33% or 0.150 to 2.220.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.55% or 0.76 to $49.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.35% or 1.21 to hit $52.70 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.74% or 9.34 to trade at $1269.34 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.63% to 4.3160.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 93.20.
