Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Electricity, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Food & Beverages sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.07%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 10.24% or 2.60 points to trade at 28.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 3.70% or 0.010 points to end at 0.280 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was up 2.00% or 0.090 points to 4.580 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AK Enerji (IS:AKENR), which fell 5.45% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.040 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) declined 5.23% or 0.150 points to end at 2.720 and Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) was down 5.16% or 0.550 points to 10.100.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 294 to 106 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.91% or 10.80 to $1174.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.46% or 1.47 to hit $58.17 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.58% or 1.65 to trade at $62.16 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.81% to 2.6650, while EUR/TRY fell 0.84% to 3.0049.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 95.41.
