Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Tourism, Information Technology and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.99% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which rose 3.95% or 0.090 points to trade at 2.370 at the close. Meanwhile, Borusan Mannesmann (IS:BRSAN) added 3.52% or 0.26 points to end at 7.65 and Parsan (IS:PARSN) was up 3.17% or 0.280 points to 9.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which fell 12.99% or 1.32 points to trade at 8.84 at the close. Good-Year (IS:GOODY) declined 6.75% or 0.32 points to end at 4.42 and Cimsa (IS:CIMSA) was down 4.87% or 0.77 points to 15.03.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 201 to 131 and 75 ended unchanged.
Shares in Good-Year (IS:GOODY) fell to 5-year lows; down 6.75% or 0.32 to 4.42. Shares in Parsan (IS:PARSN) rose to all time highs; up 3.17% or 0.280 to 9.100.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.06% or 0.75 to $1213.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $49.19 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.56% or 0.28 to trade at $50.00 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.23% to 2.9487, while EUR/TRY fell 0.09% to 3.2913.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 95.53.
