Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Sports, Transport and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.84%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS), which rose 3.98% or 0.270 points to trade at 7.050 at the close. Meanwhile, Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) added 3.91% or 0.460 points to end at 12.220 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was up 3.57% or 0.050 points to 1.450 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS), which fell 5.86% or 5.80 points to trade at 93.10 at the close. Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) declined 4.63% or 0.37 points to end at 7.62 and Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) was down 4.46% or 0.24 points to 5.14.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 196 to 151 and 63 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.96% or 11.75 to $1241.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.49% or 0.65 to hit $43.08 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.89% or 0.40 to trade at $44.67 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.05% to 2.8471, while EUR/TRY rose 0.41% to 3.2109.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 94.69.
