Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Sports and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Otokar (IS:OTKAR), which rose 7.06% or 6.85 points to trade at 103.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) added 4.27% or 10.50 points to end at 256.50 and Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) was up 3.78% or 0.21 points to 5.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL), which fell 5.08% or 0.76 points to trade at 14.19 at the close. Good-Year (IS:GOODY) declined 4.61% or 0.20 points to end at 4.14 and Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) was down 4.60% or 0.110 points to 2.280.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 234 to 93 and 82 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.08% or 0.76 to 14.19.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.24% or 3.05 to $1244.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.76% or 0.38 to hit $50.07 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.13% or 0.57 to trade at $51.12 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.20% to 2.8983, while EUR/TRY fell 0.19% to 3.2917.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 93.87.
