Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Sports sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.61% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA), which rose 12.50% or 0.340 points to trade at 3.060 at the close. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR) added 6.64% or 0.190 points to end at 3.050 and Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR) was up 4.42% or 5.40 points to 127.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN), which fell 1.75% or 0.140 points to trade at 7.860 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) declined 1.52% or 0.050 points to end at 3.240 and Net Turizm Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:NTTUR) was down 1.41% or 0.030 points to 2.100.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 253 to 105 and 49 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 12.50% or 0.340 to 3.060.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.13% or 1.56 to $1240.34 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.21% or 0.56 to hit $46.96 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.25% or 0.61 to trade at $49.45 a barrel.
USD/TRY was unchanged 0.00% to 3.5232, while EUR/TRY fell 0.33% to 4.0587.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.57.
