Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Transport and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which rose 3.33% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.480 at the close. Meanwhile, Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) added 3.28% or 0.080 points to end at 2.520 and Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) was up 3.23% or 0.020 points to 0.640 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sasa Polyester (IS:SASA), which fell 5.24% or 0.130 points to trade at 2.350 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 4.17% or 0.010 points to end at 0.230 and Alkim Kimya (IS:ALKIM) was down 3.17% or 0.45 points to 13.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 255 to 142 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.17% or 0.010 to 0.230.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.33% or 3.60 to $1089.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.75% or 0.79 to hit $44.36 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.02% or 0.51 to trade at $49.09 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.18% to 2.7815, while EUR/TRY rose 0.02% to 3.0400.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 97.93.
