Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Banking and Sports sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO), which rose 11.07% or 3.14 points to trade at 31.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Nurol Gmyo (IS:NUGYO) added 7.64% or 0.310 points to end at 4.370 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) was up 6.73% or 1.96 points to 31.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which fell 5.00% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.520 at the close. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 3.37% or 0.060 points to end at 1.720 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) was down 2.40% or 0.040 points to 1.630.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 222 to 111 and 73 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.73% or 1.96 to 31.10.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.45% or 6.05 to $1324.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.12% or 0.50 to hit $45.17 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.46% or 0.68 to trade at $47.20 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.47% to 2.9887, while EUR/TRY rose 0.29% to 3.3473.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 95.56.
