Investing.com - TripAdvisor Inc's (NASDAQ:TRIP) shares were falling in the after hours after the company released its second-quarter revenue and earnings results, which didn't measure up to analysts expectations.
TripAdvisor earned $27 million, or 19 cents a share, in the second quarter, compared with $34 million, or 23 cents a share, in the year-ago period. The company's adjusted earnings came in at 38 cents per share, equivalent to the year-over-year result but below the analyst consensus for 41 cents a share.
Revenue in the latest quarter was $424 million, also below the analyst forecast, which was for $474 million.
TripAdvisor's shares were down almost 6% in the after hours.
