Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Textile and Computers & Peripherals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were China Electric (TW:1611), which rose 9.99% or 0.77 points to trade at 8.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Candmark (TW:5259) added 9.92% or 0.12 points to end at 1.33 and Genesis Photon (TW:3383) was up 9.87% or 0.47 points to 5.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418), which fell 5.33% or 0.24 points to trade at 4.26 at the close. Silergy (TW:6415) declined 4.25% or 15.00 points to end at 338.00 and Everfocus Elec (TW:5484) was down 3.81% or 0.210 points to 5.300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 357 to 336 and 152 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.84% or 0.42 to $50.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.65% or 0.33 to hit $50.95 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.44% or 5.55 to trade at $1266.95 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.22% to 32.184, while TWD/CNY rose 0.10% to 0.2039.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 93.98.
