Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Paper & Pulp and Optoelectronic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.76% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Paiho Shih Holdings Corp (TW:8404), which rose 7.91% or 4.70 points to trade at 64.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Tripod Technology Corp (TW:3044) added 4.43% or 4.50 points to end at 106.00 and Flexium Interconnect Inc (TW:6269) was up 3.70% or 4.00 points to 112.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Crowell Development Corp (TW:2528), which fell 10.00% or 2.50 points to trade at 22.50 at the close. Formosa Sumco Technology Corp (TW:3532) declined 9.91% or 11.50 points to end at 104.50 and Anji Technology Co Ltd (TW:6477) was down 9.83% or 2.30 points to 21.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 546 to 216 and 107 ended unchanged.
Shares in Paiho Shih Holdings Corp (TW:8404) rose to all time highs; up 7.91% or 4.70 to 64.10.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.15% or 0.08 to $52.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $58.44 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 0.69 to trade at $1312.19 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.21% to 30.233, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2185.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 92.41.
