Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Optoelectronic, Other Electronic and Semiconductor sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 1.22%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348), which rose 9.94% or 3.30 points to trade at 36.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Acelon Chemicals & Fiber Corp (TW:1466) added 6.72% or 0.80 points to end at 12.70 and Micro-Star International Co Ltd (TW:2377) was up 6.42% or 4.60 points to 76.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Green Seal Holding Ltd (TW:1262), which fell 10.00% or 10.30 points to trade at 92.70 at the close. Taroko Textile Corp (TW:1432) declined 9.81% or 1.80 points to end at 16.55 and Kuangli Photoelectric Technology Co Ltd (TW:6431) was down 6.25% or 0.80 points to 12.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 445 to 323 and 112 ended unchanged.
Shares in Green Seal Holding Ltd (TW:1262) fell to all time lows; falling 10.00% or 10.30 to 92.70.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.59% or 0.26 to $44.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.51% or 0.24 to hit $47.12 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.01 to trade at $1211.19 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.04% to 30.572, while TWD/CNY fell 0.04% to 0.2226.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 95.93.
