Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity, Biotech & Medical Care and Computers & Peripherals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jih Lin (TW:5285), which rose 9.93% or 3.00 points to trade at 33.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Epileds Tech (TW:4956) added 9.86% or 1.75 points to end at 19.50 and Getac Tech (TW:3005) was up 8.00% or 3.00 points to 40.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Swancor Holding Co Ltd (TW:3708), which fell 9.93% or 7.40 points to trade at 67.10 at the close. Ygg (TW:1589) declined 9.18% or 14.00 points to end at 138.50 and Anji Technology Co Ltd (TW:6477) was down 5.99% or 1.15 points to 18.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 415 to 331 and 121 ended unchanged.
Shares in Swancor Holding Co Ltd (TW:3708) fell to all time lows; falling 9.93% or 7.40 to 67.10. Shares in Ygg (TW:1589) fell to 52-week lows; falling 9.18% or 14.00 to 138.50. Shares in Getac Tech (TW:3005) rose to 3-years highs; rising 8.00% or 3.00 to 40.50.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.56% or 0.28 to $50.07 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.40% or 0.21 to hit $51.74 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.06% or 0.75 to trade at $1256.25 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.19% to 31.770, while TWD/CNY rose 0.19% to 0.2118.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 98.00.
