Stocks - Tesla, GE Surge in Pre-market; Facebook Falls

Investing.com - Stocks in focus in pre-market trade Monday:

· Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) stock surged 16.26% as of 8:22 AM ET (12:22 GMT) after its Chief Executive Elon Musk made a deal with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which allows him to stay on as CEO.

· Oracle (NYSE:ORCL) stock fell about 1% after the company confirmed that Thomas Kurian, president of the company’s product development, is stepping down.

· Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) stock lost 0.1% after the company announced CEO Ian Read will step down at the end of the year.

· General Electric (NYSE:GE) stock gained 15.06% after the company announced Lawrence Culp would replace its chief executive, John Flannery. The company also announced it will take a $23 billion non-cash charge for its power business and fall short of earnings expectations in 2018.

· Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) stock edged down 0.19%, and shares should be active as investors digest the full effects of the security breach the company announced Friday. There will be particular attention paid to whether there were more accounts affected than the 50 million initially reported.

· Honeywell (NYSE:HON) stock fell 0.24% after the company announced it agreed to acquire Germany-based warehouse automation company Transnorm for $493 million.

· Praxair (NYSE:PX) stock increased 2.66% after China’s antitrust authority approved a proposed merger between Praxair and Linde AG (DE:LING).
