Alibaba (NYSE:BABA) stock gained 3.68% by 8:06 AM ET (12:06 GMT) as the company reported that revenue jumped 61% in the quarter ended on June 30.

• Hormel Foods (NYSE:HRL) stock sank 4.96% after the company reported fiscal third-quarter revenue that missed expectations and lowered its 2018 lowered its sales outlook to $9.4 billion to $9.6 billion from $9.7 billion to $10.1 billion.

• L Brands (NYSE:LB) tumbled 9.66% after the company cut its full-year profit forecasts despite better-than-expected second-quarter results.

• Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) stock rose 1.58% after the company won a patent dispute that bars some Vizio televisions from the U.S. market.

• Nordstrom (NYSE:JWN) stock gained 1.93% after the company authorized a $1.5 billion share repurchase program and approved a quarterly dividend.

• Williams-Sonoma (NYSE:WSM) stock soared 6.81% as quarterly revenue, earnings and same-store sales beat consensus.

• Synopsys (NASDAQ:SNPS) stock jumped 6.26% after the company reported fiscal third-quarter results that topped estimates.
