Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Beverages & Tobacco, Telecoms and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF), which rose 13.33% or 0.200 points to trade at 1.700 at the close. Meanwhile, Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) added 12.96% or 3.90 points to end at 34.00 and Serendib Engineering Group PLC (CM:IDL) was up 12.86% or 0.90 points to 7.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR), which fell 16.45% or 129.90 points to trade at 660.00 at the close. Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) declined 10.29% or 7.00 points to end at 61.00 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) was down 9.19% or 2.50 points to 24.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 96 to 75 and 50 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.63% or 0.28 to $43.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.63% or 0.29 to hit $45.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.45% or 6.00 to trade at $1325.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.69% to 192.300, while USD/LKR rose 0.44% to 146.470.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 97.36.
