Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Diversified Holdings, Healthcare and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Property Development PLC (CM:PDL), which rose 34.31% or 26.80 points to trade at 104.90 at the close. Meanwhile, People’s Merchant Finance PLC (CM:PMB) added 18.79% or 3.10 points to end at 19.60 and Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) was up 17.32% or 182.90 points to 1239.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which fell 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.6000 at the close. Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) declined 7.89% or 6.00 points to end at 70.00 and Eastern Merchants PLC (CM:EMER) was down 7.69% or 0.50 points to 6.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 94 to 69 and 47 ended unchanged.
Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) fell to 5-year lows; falling 14.29% or 0.1000 to 0.6000.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.30% or 0.16 to $53.93 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.21% or 0.12 to hit $56.97 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.25% or 2.95 to trade at $1161.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.49% to 182.340, while USD/LKR fell 0.88% to 148.440.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.45% at 102.20.
