Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Footwear & Textile and Stores & Supplies sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.23% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB), which rose 16.30% or 12.00 points to trade at 85.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) added 11.25% or 4.50 points to end at 44.50 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was up 11.11% or 0.100 points to 1.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which fell 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.700 at the close. Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) declined 12.25% or 342.90 points to end at 2457.00 and Property Development PLC (CM:PDL) was down 11.41% or 9.40 points to 73.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 92 to 68 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB) rose to all time highs; up 16.30% or 12.00 to 85.60.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.89% or 0.43 to $48.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.68% or 0.35 to hit $51.02 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 6.05 to trade at $1207.45 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.37% to 183.505, while USD/LKR fell 0.95% to 150.070.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 101.17.
