Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Land & Property, Healthcare and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 16.67% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.7000 and Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) was up 15.35% or 3.10 points to 23.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which fell 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.700 at the close. Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) declined 10.18% or 5.60 points to end at 49.40 and Gestetner of Ceylon PLC (CM:GEST) was down 8.70% or 10.00 points to 105.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 80 to 79 and 70 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 100.00% or 0.100 to 0.200.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.33% or 0.16 to $49.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.31% or 0.16 to hit $52.29 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.42% or 5.42 to trade at $1272.08 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.28% to 195.145, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 152.240.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 98.97.
